What does your creative process look like?
All my collage images come from a mix of modern and historical artworks that I’ve discovered in books, magazines, and auction catalogs.
To streamline my process, I’ve scanned hundreds of images, creating a digital library that allows me to select and print materials as needed. Additionally, I’ve scanned modernist sculptures, which I laser-cut from plywood for added depth and texture.
Each new piece begins with layering collage materials on shaped wood pieces until I find a color scheme and pattern that resonate. My process is intuitive and fast-paced as I experiment with arranging and layering shapes and constantly adjusting compositions. I continue refining until the artwork has a dynamic balance, engaging negative space, and a sense of movement.

I find inspiration in art, art history, and the artists themselves.

Yes, absolutely! Before I can fully dive into my work, I need to tidy up my space, put away my tools, sweep the floor, and, of course, brew a fresh pot of coffee.
Everything needs to feel just right before I can begin.
