Introduction

Skoda Enyaq Iv: The Bold New Benchmark In Electric Suvs

Skoda India is now going all-electric, and the car leading this transformation is the Enyaq. This all-electric SUV will be launched in India as a full CBU (completely built-up) import. A few units have already landed in the country for testing.

Today, we’re getting behind the wheel of the Enyaq in the Czech Republic, and not just any version—we’re driving its most thrilling variant yet: the Enyaq iV RS Coupé.

Before we dive deeper, don’t forget to like this video, share it with your friends, and subscribe to the Autocar India channel. Also, let us know in the comments—are you excited about the Skoda Enyaq iV RS Coupé? What do you think should be the ideal price for it in India?

Now, it’s worth mentioning that a standard SUV version of the Enyaq will also be available. But today, all the spotlight is on the sporty RS Coupé, and it’s easy to see why.

Exterior

We’re driving the Coupé version today, easily recognizable by its distinctive sloping roofline. But beyond that sleek profile, there are a few thoughtful design details worth highlighting.

Take a look at these 21-inch alloy wheels—they come with an optional aero package. Thanks to the flush-fitting blades, the design not only looks sharp but also helps improve the vehicle’s aerodynamic efficiency.

Moving along the side, that sweeping roofline catches your eye again. Interestingly, I’ve been told it doesn’t compromise rear headroom by much—we’ll explore that a bit later.

At the back, you’ll find a large hatchback-style tailgate. And yes, it’s powered. Open it, and you’re greeted by a spacious and practical boot—perfect for everyday use or weekend getaways.

Boot space

Interestingly, the 570-liter boot space is just 15 liters less than what you get in the standard Enyaq SUV, which is also expected to launch in India. What’s unique—and somewhat unusual—for a born-electric vehicle like this is the front end. There’s no frunk (front trunk) available, as the space is entirely occupied by electric motors and supporting components.

That minor limitation aside, the car features a striking front design that immediately grabs attention. One of the main highlights is the crystalline grille, a distinctive Enyaq signature that’s likely to be a hit in the Indian market—assuming it’s offered here.

The RS variant stands out further with its sportier and more aggressive front bumper compared to the regular Enyaq. It’s a visual cue that lets onlookers know you’re driving the performance-focused model. As for the interior—well, that’s a whole other story.

Back seat space

Let’s talk about the back seat experience. Now, you might not notice it right away, but since this is a coupe-style electric SUV, getting in and out can be a bit tricky. The low roofline combined with the high floor, due to the battery pack underneath, means access requires a bit of adjustment.

Once you’re inside, it’s quite decent. The seating position is a bit upright, and the design of the seat forces you into a slightly knees-up posture, but thanks to adequate squab length, you still get good thigh support.

In terms of space, it’s surprisingly generous, with ample knee room and impressive headroom, especially considering the sloping roof. That’s because Škoda has thoughtfully scooped out the ceiling to maximize space. The fixed glass roof is standard and cleverly designed without a roller blind, helping maintain that crucial extra headroom.

As for comfort, the rear seat is well-cushioned and quite supportive. You also get several premium features like heated rear seats (in the European spec), three-zone climate control, two USB Type-C ports, and a fold-down armrest for added convenience.

All in all, it’s not a bad place to sit—but let’s be honest, the place you want to be is in the driver’s seat.

Interior & Features

Now let’s move to the driver’s seat, and I have to say—Škoda has gone the extra mile to give this RS variant a real performance vibe.

It starts with the steering wheel, which features a flat-bottom design wrapped in grippy leather. It feels great in the hands and includes paddle shifters, likely used to control regenerative braking.

You also get a pair of RS-branded sport seats that feel snug and supportive, especially around the shoulders and sides, perfect for spirited driving.

The cabin is dominated by a large 13-inch touchscreen. It sits quite high on the dashboard, which might feel a bit distracting at first, but because the dashboard is low and sleek, it doesn’t hinder visibility on the move.

In front of the driver, there are digital dials, though they’re smaller than what you’ll find in most new cars. But being an EV, you don’t really need traditional dial clusters. You get just the key info, and that’s complemented by a clear and crisp head-up display on this RS version.

Build quality is top-notch. You’ll find contrast stitching, premium leather, and even a carbon fiber effect on the dashboard—all adding to the sporty character.

Thankfully, Škoda hasn’t gone all-in on touch controls. There are still some physical buttons and knobs, making basic functions easier to use on the go.

Storage is practical too. There are two wireless charging pads, multiple USB-C ports, and plenty of storage spaces scattered around the cabin.

The only oddity? The cup holders are surprisingly small, which feels a little out of place in an otherwise very well-thought-out cabin.

Overall, this RS interior looks and feels premium, sporty, and driver-focused. Now, let’s hit the road and see how the Enyaq Coupé RS drives.

Performance

Let’s begin by seeing what the Enyaq Coupé RS is like as a regular EV.

I’ve set it to Normal mode, and the display shows 82% battery with 345 kilometers of range, which seems pretty accurate for this setup.

From the driver’s seat, it has that typical new-age electric car feel. The design is clean and minimalist, with a monovolume silhouette and A-pillars that stretch far forward. The bonnet dips sharply, so despite the high driving position, it’s hard to see the front edges of the car.

Around town, the steering is light and effortless, which makes maneuvering this fairly large SUV surprisingly easy.

In Auto mode, the regenerative braking feels well-balanced, not too aggressive. It allows for smooth driving without much intrusion. But if you prefer more control, the paddle shifters let you manually adjust the regen levels, which is a great touch.

As for power, the standard Enyaq comes in two configurations—a single motor setup with 148 to 204 hp, and a dual motor with 265 hp.

But this RS? It’s the most powerful Škoda ever made.

With 299 horsepower and 460 Nm of torque, thanks to the dual motor setup, the acceleration feels effortless and immediate. It just surges forward with no hesitation.

What’s more impressive is the refinement. With the whisper-quiet powertrain, the only thing I hear is a hint of wind noise. Even tyre noise is minimal, which is rare, especially considering the less-than-perfect road surfaces we often encounter.

Ride & Handling

In Comfort mode, the Enyaq RS handles city roads quite well. The ride is plush and composed, soaking up most of the bumps without complaint.

Switch it to Sport mode, though, and you’ll start to feel a bit more of the road surface, especially over sharper bumps.

That’s largely due to the 21-inch wheels, which do transmit some of the roughness. If you were to go with the 20-inch wheels, the ride would likely feel a lot more forgiving.

For Indian road conditions, this setup—especially in Comfort mode—could make it a strong contender as a well-rounded electric SUV.

Now, a quick word on the range.

This RS variant is equipped with an 82 kWh battery, delivering a claimed range of 504 km on the WLTP cycle.

By comparison, the standard Enyaq with a single motor and the same battery offers a slightly higher range of 532 km.

Range & Charging

To find out, I switched to Sport mode, and immediately, the car’s character changed. The responses tightened, regenerative braking became firmer, and the steering gained extra weight—exactly what you’d want from a performance variant.

Everything suddenly felt sharper and more composed, giving the impression of a much smaller, more agile machine.

As for performance? It delivers. I was doing about 65 km/h, floored the accelerator, and in no time I hit 90 km/h, the speed limit. That instant surge is the magic of electric RS models.

Of course, there’s one obvious trade-off: weight. The Enyaq RS likely weighs over 2,000 kilograms, which is significant. That puts a lot of pressure on the suspension setup, but remarkably, it handles the load with confidence and poise.

So, is this a full-fledged RS in the traditional sense? Maybe not quite—but it’s very close. One thing is certain—it’s got plenty of energy and excitement under the surface.

The Enyaq iV fits beautifully into the Škoda lineup. It’s practical, well-built, and premium—but not overstyled or flashy.

Škoda hasn’t yet confirmed which variants will come to India, but we’re hopeful that more than one cuts. The standard Enyaq SUV is a more subdued and sensible option, and if priced right, it could do well.

Just don’t expect it to be cheap—this will be a CBU import, and prices are expected to start around ₹50 lakh (ex-showroom).

However, if you’re looking to make a bold statement, we hope Škoda brings the RS Coupé too. It may not tug at your heartstrings the way a petrol-powered RS does—but then again, how many EV crossovers do?

What it does offer is strong performance, head-turning design, and day-to-day practicality—and that’s a combination that many Indian buyers will definitely appreciate.

Conclusion

The Škoda Enyaq iV stands out as a strong contender in the fast-growing electric SUV segment.

Combining practicality, comfort, and a clear focus on sustainable mobility, it appeals to eco-conscious buyers who want more than just clean driving—they want space, style, and usability too.

With its elegant design, roomy interior, and a suite of advanced tech features, the Enyaq iV ensures an enjoyable driving experience that feels both modern and refined.

Its long-range capability and fast-charging support add serious daily convenience, whether you’re commuting in the city or heading out on longer journeys.

Škoda’s well-earned reputation for build quality and reliability further enhances the Enyaq iV’s appeal, making it a trustworthy choice in this competitive segment.

With a balance of strong performance, premium features, and eco-friendly credentials, the Enyaq iV delivers an experience that’s hard to ignore.

It’s a compelling option for those ready to embrace electric mobility, without sacrificing style, comfort, or versatility.
