We never really pay attention to anyone around us in our fast-paced life in an overpopulated city, But sometimes we feel a spontaneous connection with someone we cross paths with. This happens so fast that you wish for fate to conspire for you two to meet again. This is the story of the 2013 Academy Award Winning Short Film Paperman.
The first time director John Kahrs was inspired by his time in New York city commuting to work from Grand Central Station. The Paperman won the 2013 Academy Award for the Best Animated Short Film. The film was created by a small innovative team in collaboration with Walt Disney Animation Studios.
In just 6 minutes, the film manages to present a whole love story with easily identifiable characters and impeccable storytelling. The film uses a minimalistic black and white setup and follows a story of a lonely young men George in Mid Century Newyork. His life turns upside down when he meets a beautiful girl, meg, on his morning commute. The Paperman is truly an inspiring tale about love and the chasing of it.
