The demand for an electric rickshaw for loading that genuinely matches the operational requirements of commercial cargo transport – strong range, high payload, fleet connectivity, and dependable reliability, has grown significantly as India's last-mile logistics sector expands. The TVS King Kargo HD EV, launched in August 2025, addresses this demand with the most comprehensively specified electric cargo three-wheeler currently available in India.

Pricing and Availability

The King Kargo HD EV is priced at Rs 3.85 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), available in FSD and CBC body configurations across two wheelbase options. The initial rollout covers Delhi NCR (including Faridabad, Noida, Gurgaon, and Ghaziabad), Rajasthan, and Bengaluru, with a national expansion planned progressively through TVS's commercial vehicle network.

Battery, Range, and Charging

The King Kargo HD EV is powered by an 8.86 kWh LFP (Lithium Ferro Phosphate) battery pack. LFP chemistry was deliberately chosen for its superior thermal stability, longer charge cycle life, and safety profile compared to standard nickel-manganese-cobalt lithium-ion alternatives. The certified range is 156 km, with a real-world range of 143 km on a single charge. Charging from 0 to 100% takes 3 hours 10 minutes using the onboard charger. A 500 mm water wading capacity ensures operational reliability during India's monsoon season.

Motor and Payload

An 11 kW PMSM motor delivers 40 Nm of torque, giving the King Kargo HD EV confident performance under load conditions. The payload capacity is up to 998 kg depending on the body configuration, with a 6.6-foot load deck. Grade ability is 28.70%, enabling effective operation on inclined roads with a full load.

Three Drive Modes and Power Gear

Three driving modes – Eco, City, and Power, allow the operator to adapt performance to route conditions and cargo weight. A dedicated Power Gear Mode provides additional torque specifically for heavy-load applications. Reverse mode enables straightforward manoeuvring in tight delivery areas and loading bays.

Segment-First Features

The King Kargo HD EV introduces several features new to the electric cargo three-wheeler segment. Fully rolling windows in the cabin improve driver comfort and ventilation during extended operating hours. A roof trim provision reduces cabin temperature by up to 6 degrees Celsius, addressing the driver heat fatigue issue common in commercial three-wheelers. A widened windshield eliminates blind spots at the front. Twin-axis ORVMs provide improved lateral and rear visibility for safer lane changes.

Fleet Connectivity

The King Kargo HD EV is the first Bluetooth-connected cargo three-wheeler in India. The Apnaa TVS App provides individual drivers with navigation, distance to empty, state of charge monitoring, geo-fencing, and ride history. The TVS Connect Fleet platform for operators provides 31 smart features including real-time vehicle tracking, vehicle utilisation metrics, driving safety scores, cost per kilometre analytics, and intelligent reporting dashboards.

Conclusion

For logistics operators and commercial buyers evaluating the right EV loading auto , the TVS King Kargo HD EV delivers the longest range, the first fleet-connected telematics system, the most driver-comfortable cabin design, and the strongest warranty package in the electric cargo three-wheeler segment. At Rs 3.85 lakh ex-showroom, it represents a serious long-term operational investment.
