The XL 100 alloy wheel price question became relevant in September 2025 when TVS Motor Company launched the XL100 Heavy Duty Alloy, the first variant in the XL100 lineup to offer alloy wheels in decades. Priced at approximately Rs 59,800 (ex-showroom, Delhi, at launch), it introduces a set of practical and visual upgrades that meaningfully improve the ownership experience over the spoke-wheel variants.

Why Alloy Wheels on the XL100 Are a Bigger Deal Than They Sound

The XL100 has relied on traditional spoke wheels with tubed tyres across its entire range for as long as it has existed in its current form. Spoke wheels are cost-effective and robust, but their dependence on tubed tyres creates a specific vulnerability: when a tube is punctured, the tyre deflates suddenly, which can cause the rider to lose control, particularly when carrying a load. Tubeless tyres, which are only practical on alloy wheels, deflate gradually, giving the rider warning and time to stop safely.

For an XL100 rider who uses the moped as a daily workhorse and frequently loads it with goods or rides on less-maintained rural roads, this is a genuine safety improvement. The 16-inch alloy wheels also reduce the maintenance requirement of periodic spoke tension adjustments, which adds up in terms of workshop visits over the life of the vehicle.

The wheels are wrapped with 2.50-16 6PR 41L tyres at both ends, sized to match the XL100's 180mm ground clearance and intended road conditions.

Additional Feature Upgrades

Beyond the wheels, the Heavy Duty Alloy variant adds an LED headlight setup, replacing the conventional bulb headlight of lower variants. LED lighting provides better road illumination, longer service life, and a more contemporary visual appearance. A Type-A USB charging port is also included, allowing riders to keep their mobile devices powered during working hours.

All other features are shared with the broader XL100 range. The ETFi engine, engine kill switch, tipping sensor, electric starter, detachable rear seat, large floorboard, and Synchronised Braking Technology (SBT) are all standard. The 4-litre fuel tank with a 1.25-litre reserve and the 80 kmpl ARAI mileage claim remain unchanged.

Who this Variant is For

The Heavy Duty Alloy targets two types of buyers. The first is the working commuter or small business operator who already owns or is considering an XL100 for daily use and load-carrying, and who wants tubeless tyre security as a practical safety priority. The second is the younger buyer who likes the XL100's price point but wants a more contemporary visual character, which the alloy wheels and LED headlight deliver without requiring a step up to a more expensive two-wheeler category.

Conclusion

The TVS XL 100 alloy wheel price  of approximately Rs 62,033 to Rs 65,047 in Delhi represents a sensible and well-targeted premium over the previous top variant. For a modest additional investment, the buyer receives alloy wheels with tubeless tyres, an LED headlight, and a USB charging port on top of everything the proven XL100 platform already delivers.
