The Power of Micro-Experiments in Your Work
Big changes are hard, but small experiments can unlock huge growth. Here's how to use micro-experiments to improve your work without the risk.
What's a Micro-Experiment?
A micro-experiment is a tiny, low-stakes test of a new idea or habit. It's designed to be done in a few days or weeks, with minimal resources. Instead of overhauling your entire workflow, you try one small change and observe the outcome.

Start Small, Fail Fast
The only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven't found it yet, keep looking. Don't settle.
Steve Jobs
How to Run One
Pick one habit or process you want to improve. Define a hypothesis: 'If I do X, then Y will improve.' Set a short timer (e.g., one week). Execute the change consistently. Compare results to your baseline. Adjust or adopt.

Document Everything
Example: Email Overload
Hypothesis: Checking email only twice a day will reduce stress and increase focus. Experiment: For one week, check email at 10am and 3pm only. Measure: Track how many urgent issues were missed and your productivity level. Result: Most likely you'll find you can batch-process effectively.
An experiment is a question which science poses to Nature, and a measurement is the recording of Nature's answer.
